Instead, Threadless pick the designers themselves. The chosen designer then creates a shirt solely for the Select Series, completely by-passing the competition process. This creates a different look and style than the regular Threadless shirts. Artists have more freedom to take the designer wherever they want, as they don’t have to worry about getting votes.

The Select Series results in some incredible designs. It really is cool to see designers just express themselves, without any other considerations. The only unfortunate thing about the Threadless Select Series is that the prices of the shirts are somewhat higher. Select shirts start around $29, rather than the usual $20. Sometimes it’s worth paying this premium, though, as there are some amazing designs. Plus, you can always get a discount to bring that price down a bit.
