Threadless Street Team

Threadless doesn’t just rely on self-promotion to find their customers, they also have a huge street team. Users are automatically eligible for the Street Team after joining Threadless and can earn “StreetTeam Points” (STPs) from two different sources. Users can either refer people and earn 2 STPs for every sale, or they can post pictures of themselves wearing Threadless tees for 1 STP (for each picture). Each of these StreetTeam Points (STPs) is worth $1.50 in merchandise, so it adds up quick.

The StreetTeam was a great idea for growing the Threadless community. Not only does it provide new users, but the huge variety of user pictures (of wearing Threadless tees) really build a sense of community. People have even gotten creative with the pictures–you can find some really good stuff.

The Threadless Street Team was another great idea, and a reason why Threadless is one of the most successful t-shirt companies.
